Dog Meat eating & Slavery is not TRADITION

Please Note: While the abhorrent practice of slavery spans countless generations and regrettably continues even into present-day history since Marc Ching and I are citizens of the United States of America the narrative of my article will be viewed through America's long and shameful history with the subjugation of blacks.
Los Angeles Daily News journalist Susan Abram recently wrote an article entitled "LA County leaders poised to condemn China’s dog meat festival"
Ms. Abram's story mainly dealt with L.A. Supervisor Hilda Solis introducing a motion to request that county officials craft a letter in support of a growing movement to urge China to end the dog meat trade and the festival.
One of the many excuses the Asian community to justify their inhumane and repugnant dog-meat eating belief is to proclaim it a "Chinese Tradition," an excuse that, based on facts, Wildlife Planet utterly rejects.
The "It's Our Tradition" excuse is easily debunked by the very fact that in order to achieve any validity, you would need to dismiss the history of some of China's most historic dynasties and the hundreds of years that they ruled.
For example, the Tang (AD 618–690 & 705–907) and the Song (AD 960–1279) dynasties are examples where the consumption of dogs fell out of favor. Unlike today, China history of eating dog meat correlated more with economics and agriculture, rather than tradition.
In more recent history the practice of Dog meat eating can be attributed to The San Zi Jing, written in the 13th century and attributed to Wang Yinglin, In it reads Horse, ox, sheep, chicken, dog, pig these six animals are those which people raise. This is generally taken to mean that these animals were a source of meat.
In Guangxi – where the Yulin “dog-meat festival” takes place - and despite what the festival and Dogmeat eating supporters say there are no recorded historical documents that show this region were keen dog meat eaters.

In the story Susan Abram's quoted Marc Ching the founder of Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, comparing the quest to end the eating of Dog meat to that of slavery when Ching said, "Slavery was an example of a tradition that was changed in the U.S. Constitution."
Wildlife Planet followers know the truth about Marc Ching as we have done extensive reporting on Marc Ching narcissistic view of himself and how his ill-conceived, fly by the seat of his pants planning has caused the death of more dogs than he has actually saved, since his arrival in late 2015.

We must give Ms. Abrams low marks for not thoroughly vetting Marc Ching before using him as a source for her article. Laziness is no excuse for not discovering that Marc Ching has very little credibility in the community that fights to put an end to the Dog Meat Industry.
Marc Ching, who founded The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation has shown on numerous occasions his motives are geared more toward self-promotion, rather than the actual rescue of these brutalized animals.
The quote used by Abram's in her LA Daily News article once again confirms Marc Ching's lack of intelligence when he foolishly compared the enslavement of blacks to that of hanging Christmas lights, eating Turkey at Thanksgiving or making a New Year's resolution.
Traditions are something that is handed down from generation to generation that can range from statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information, etc., but the subjugation of a race, shall not, nor should it ever be, something that is considered a "Tradition".
Marc Ching also proclaimed that "Slavery" ended when a few lines "changed in the U.S. Constitution," the absurdity in his reasoning shows why this feeble minded clod caused the deaths of hundreds of dogs when he enacted his half-baked, ill-planned, 2016 Yulin Dog rescue.

Marc Ching comparison of eating dog or cat meat with the abolishment of slavery is so abhorrent due to the fact that Slavery was not simply ended when President Lincoln in 1863, signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
The cost our nation paid to bring an end to slavery was steep, to say the least. To bring down the final curtain down on slavery, our country needed to endure a civil war that resulted in four of the bloodiest years in our nation's history.
To end slavery in our country we lost more than 700,000 soldiers, that is more Americans than we lost in World War I and World War II combined, not to mention leaving much of the Southern United States destroyed.
To stop the torture, butchering, and consumption of Dogs and Cats in China, I believe the Late Carrie Fisher said it best when she once wrote
"There is so much animal suffering in the world, and much of it, you feel helpless to end, but stopping the Yulin dog meat festival and ending all that suffering is easy... All the Chinese authorities need to do is declare it shut down, and the killing stops."
I would have expected a simple minded lightweight like Marc Ching to correlate the practice of ending dog-meat eating to that of ending slavery, but for any writer such as Susan Abram's to include Marc Ching's ignorance into their article is dishonorable and utterly reprehensible.
