The Yulin Festival Exposes The Real Marc Chin

Martyn Stewart's ACTIVISM GONE BAD IN YULIN, CHINA story seems to confirm many of Wildlife Planets allegations that Marc Ching is nothing more than a fraud looking to profit both monetarily and socially off of the suffering of these poor innocent dogs.

Stewart is actually giving us a first-hand account of Marc Ching's actions at the 2016 Yulin festival, his story shows us a far different person than his followers believe him to be and every story only adds to the incredibly strong circumstantial case we have already made.

While his devoted followers will hang on for as long as possible and claim "Circumstantial" is not absolute proof, every day the pile of evidence grows larger until even the most devoted of his followers will have to confess they have seen enough and pronounce Marc Ching guilty as charged.

Reading Mr. Stewart's account of Marc Ching and his actions at the 2016 Yulin festival reminds me of Hillary Clinton saying she must have a Public and Private side. Things you can say and do in private must never be revealed to the public because it would show them to be nothing more than a farce and a liar.

Marc Ching pushes the image of being this lone wolf 'Me against the world' activist fighting against all odds to defeat the evil dog meat trade, he loves retelling his grand adventures in evading the police, his risking life and limb, jumping in and out of cabs dodging police and dog murdering butchers, going undercover in order to record the behind the scene horrors and staying one step ahead of whoever he thinks is after him.

It was Animal Hope and Wellness who contact the writer prior to the 2016 Yulin festival in hopes that he would interview or at least connect with Marc Ching in Yulin.

Stewart's recounting his very first encounter reveals Marc Ching in a very different light than the Marc Ching perpetrating his claims that "I am here alone (let the tears start flowing) fighting to save these poor creatures"

I met Marc Ching’s entourage in the lobby of the hotel where I was staying with a colleague of mine who had made the trip with me. There were about 12 people, including some news reporters, a few volunteers, and many secret police. they said they were getting ready to go and visit a slaughterhouse and that I couldn’t come with them at this time. This struck me as strange, as a Daily Mail reporter was going with them.

12 people? Secret Police? And low and behold a Daily Mail reporter? The same Daily Mail that Marc Ching declared tabloid liars when they exposed "The Man Who Risked His Life To Save 1,000 Dogs from the Yulin Slaughterhouse" as doing nothing of the sort.

Is any of it true? Amazingly his followers will believe every word Marc Ching claims are true without the slightest bit of evidence, but disregard any other stories because they claim "it's all circumstantial" or worst yet "Fabricated" for some unknown reason.

When the Daily Mail story claimed that 700 of the 1,000 Marc Ching saved dogs, actually died. Marc Ching and his Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation and his followers immediately said "Ha! The Daily Mail what a tabloid piece of junk and nothing more than made up lies."

It's amazing to learn that Marc Ching not only had one of their reporters in his entourage, but he was the only reporter allowed to tag along on one of the very same rescue missions the Daily Mail exposed five months later.

Hundreds of animals that Hollywood crusader vowed to rescue from the dinner table in China were later left to die in sweltering cages

Marc Ching seems to constantly leave out a great many details that I believe are crucial for people to make their choices on whom to donate their money to. With each story, these lack of details is reinforcing our belief that they are intentional rather than just an oversight.

But with each story, we write we are discovering an all too common thread woven into Marc Ching's character, and that is the ability to lie and evade about what really transpires in reality, which if confirmed would have a tremendous impact on how he is judged by his fanatics.

Marc Ching has an almost Jekyll and Hyde-like on camera/off camera personality. Even if there is a lack of evidence, the idea of handing over thousands of dollars in donations to a dog breeder, making him more wealthy and supplying him the capital to expand his horrific trade seems disgusting at best and would contradict everything Ching claims to be.

Prior to the festival, Marc had met a Chinese guy in Yulin we’ll call “Baldy,” who is a dog trader and breeder. There have been many rumors stating that Marc bought all the dogs from this guy and had them delivered to the festival, but I can’t find any evidence to back this up. Marc told me he used Baldy and other locals to introduce him to slaughterhouse owners so that he could do deals to suspend their trading. Thousands of dollars changed hands, including money paid to Baldy for introductions. Yulin took on a new meaning to many of the slaughterhouse owners who found themselves with a new source of income.

Wildlife Planet has been reporting on Marc Ching and judging by the reaction and a number of emails we received the fact is we know that we are turning public opinion against Marc Ching and people are starting to see through his charade.

While we will never get everyone to see Marc Ching for what he is, we will not stop until we feel that we have convinced as many of his followers as possible that Marc Ching's word is worthless and his exploits are questionable at best.

We still hold out hope that a certain someone will be convinced that public opinion has gone so far past the tipping point they will allow us to publish the materials that we have in our possession. Quite frankly, we actually do have the "Smoking Gun" that shows Marc Ching in all his self-centered, egotistical narcissistic glory and leaves no doubt about his true motives.

Many have written us "What gives you the right to go after such a great man?" of course we point out what exactly makes him a great man? A YouTube video? It's hilarious reading these moronic comments, "He is a great man" but you know nothing about him except what he has told you.

I am also sure these same people thought John Edwards when he was running for President was a great man... until they found out he was screwing around and getting a woman pregnant while his wife was at home, dying from cancer.

What does give us the right to go after him is the fact that we know people want to help and they do so through donating to front line activist. So without question, it is our site's responsibility to question anyone who accepts donations, and report on what we see, heard and know about any group so you can make the best choice possible when handing over your money.

After all, it should be about saving animals and who you believe will do the best job with the money you send them? If Marc Ching ever truthfully explained where a part of his donation had been spent, you'll find a great many who had given, would not approve of his choices.

Marc had a cameraman with him who I spoke briefly to, asking how he was going to film in such dark conditions. His camera wasn’t very good in the dark, but he told me he had to go with Marc to “get the shot.” I found out that Marc had hired this cameraman, who was based in Hong Kong, to follow Marc around and film his every move, and not just in Yulin. The cameraman told me he wasn’t allowed to film anything in butcher shops or slaughterhouses, which he thought was strange. I asked if I could go with them and report at the slaughterhouse, but once again I was refused.

We believe that Marc Ching didn't want anything filmed inside the slaughterhouse because the film may capture exactly how much he is paying to buy these dogs and also the conditions at the time of purchase.

We dislike the fact that he pays for these dogs and the fact that instead of putting them out of business what he is actually doing is just making them richer and if they knew Marc Ching will be back next year what do you suppose they will do?

So far we have never seen a signed document that states as fact that the people he purports to be put out of business will stay out of business. There is no proof the slaughterhouses didn't just go on vacation only to return after the festival has ended. This, of course, would be another reason for not recording.

If Marc Ching declares "I shut down 6 slaughterhouses in 2016" and then returns in 2017 and we have the film that shows the same people in 2016 are now open, just in a new location than it proves Marc Ching to be nothing but a fool, which we already know he is.

Incredibly, this reporter having no substantive connection nor any real contact with Marc Ching or Animals Hope and Wellness when having the opportunity to finally interview him asked a very revealing question for someone who was only around Marc Ching for less than one day.

I asked Marc very directly if he was using Yulin to elevate his profile. He claimed he was there to bring awareness, had respect for all animals, that the message was clear ,and that he would help close down Yulin. I asked Marc again if all this was about making a movie. Marc told me that while this was a possibility, his trip was not all about making a movie, but about saving dogs.

It would seem strange that a seasoned reporter would ask this question, but not really if you stopped being a fan for a moment and you actually looked past all the crying and the self-promoting and was able to view Marc Ching without all the public filters he puts before him.

If you did, you would see what many veteran reporters and animal activist see, a man who believes Marc Ching is #1 on his list of priorities and this selfishness makes for an incredibly bad activist and it will be the dogs that will pay the ultimate price for this man's hubris.

As I have shown time and time again Marc Change seems not to be able to keep his story straight.
and his story changes depending on who is asking the questions and what his agenda is at that moment and how much he needs a quick ego boost.

I asked a number of questions and got many conflicting answers, mostly about the number of dogs that were allegedly saved and the slaughterhouses he’d closed down. I asked Marc why it was posted on social media that he had closed down ten slaughterhouses, and how was that possible? When he told me he’d never said that, I showed him the post that his foundation had written to that effect.

Marc then told me he had suspended the trade at Yulin by paying several slaughterhouses not to sell dogs during the festival (I later learned it had cost him $1,000 per day). He said he hadn’t come to Yulin to buy dogs. I asked him if he thought that paying out huge amounts of money would only inflate the trade and postpone the inevitable. He told me that what he believed he was doing was neither right or wrong, but that he wanted to try something different than what had already been done by activists in years past. I said, ‘if you buy all the pets from a pet store, you aren’t closing it down, you’re only contributing money plus profit to restock it.’ Surely this was the same scenario? But Marc didn’t seem to see it that way.

How many people would donate if they knew Marc Ching really didn't stop anything but instead only gave the owners a paid vacation with donations that he collects from building his resume through other fraudulent and similarly miraculous accomplishments?

Would you donate if you knew what he had planned for the 2016 Yulin Festival?

Did Marc Ching tell anyone that he would be shutting down these slaughterhouses for two weeks by paying them $14,000 each?

The Stewart story, combined the Daily mail story, the multiple stories Wildlife Planet has published and the additional stand alone stories on the internet, starts to bring into focus Marc Ching's true goal for the 2016 Yulin Festival, stop the dog meat trade just long enough for him to produce another Big Bold Headline claiming he and he alone did something historic and leave before they reopen.

An example of this was our story on Marc Ching's "Historic making Animal Activist Marc Ching Closes Gupo Dog Meat Market" Seemingly with everything Marc Ching announces the detail lacking press release or story is astounding.

Let's imagine if you will Marc Ching reporting a sports story about Marc Ching the Football Coach the same way he writes one of his "BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS," It would look similar to this

In an incredible historic display that no one could have ever have thought possible, they won in the most unbelievable fashion. It was an amazing victory that I doubt anyone could have pulled off except for Coach Marc Ching. Everyone clapped when it was over and Marc Ching has carried off the field for all his incredible work in securing a victory in this history making game.

So would any reader actually tweet "We love you Marc" or "You're the greatest ever" based on what we wrote here... The answer is no, but they do when Marc sends out his big announcement posts with the same exact amount of missing detail as I placed above.

Read Martyn Stewart's Story ACTIVISM GONE BAD IN YULIN, CHINA. You'll quickly discover that it pretty much matches what we have been writing about Marc Ching's lack of credibility and his willingness to lie to his followers to produce a response that would not only bring him personal adulations but also underserved donations.
